Description

Bexicaserin (LP352) is a 5-HT2C receptor agonist with potential for studying obesity and psychiatric-related disorders (such as epilepsy).

Biological activity

In Vitro Bexicaserin (10 µM, 24 or 48 hours) is a superagonist of the 5-HT2C receptor (a ligand that induces a greater response than the endogenous agonist), with a Ki of 44 nM. In dynamic mass redistribution (DMR) assays, Bexicaserin induced a maximal cellular response in HEK293 cells expressing the human 5-HT2C receptor that exceeded the response induced by the endogenous agonist 5-HT.
